Routes to getting on track

The aim of Fly Motorsport is to service the needs of a variety of customers and experience levels. There are various mechanisms to use for driving on track and each have pros and cons.

Track Days

These are non-competitive events held at most tracks across the country. They allow drivers the opportunity to enjoy track driving without the financial overhead of actually competing.

Pros:

  • Cheaper access costs
  • No experience necessary (DVLA license required)
  • Rules in place for safety
  • Ability to carry passengers for instruction or pleasure
  • Lots more track time available than testing

Cons:

  • No timing permitted
  • Large disparity in vehicle / driver performance

Track day events serve as a perfect opportunity for drivers new to the sport to try their hand at track driving or trying out a new car. Prices vary depending on the chosen circuit, please contact us with a circuit and date window and we can provide a quote.

General Testing

These events are exclusive to Motorsport UK license holders in racing specification machinery with personal protective equipment in line with the national governing body standards.

Pros:

  • Known experience levels
  • Timing permitted
  • Vehicles of similar performance

Cons:

  • More expensive than trackdays
  • Restrictions on passenger (at some circuits, only ARDS Instructor Grade A)
  • Limited number of days available
